Alpro has recalled 4 pallets of its 1 litre UHT packs of Growing Up Drink from Sainsbury’s following quality control testing by the company. Although no consumer complaints have been received, quality testing of production samples has identified a curdling issue with a small batch of this drink. Affected product will appear curdled on opening and will taste sour and, as a precautionary measure, should not be consumed.
3,520 x 1 litre UHT packs, distributed to two Sainsbury’s depots, are potentially affected and while the majority have not reached store shelves it is known that some have been sold. Consumers are asked to return this product to their Sainsbury’s store for a full refund.
This recall only affects Alpro Growing Up Drink 1 litre UHT packs sold via Sainsbury’s with the traceability code AB 2310 xx:xx and a best before date of 05.03.2018. No other Alpro products, including UHT Alpro Growing Up Drink sold by other retailers, or fresh Growing Up Drink are affected by this recall.
Alpro say “We strive to provide our consumers with products of the highest quality and have taken this action voluntarily as on this occasion this product clearly does not meet our standards.
